Business From The Get-Go

Timmy GoComing from a lineage of entrepreneurs, it was only a matter of time before Timmy Go pursued business ventures of his own.

In 2016, Timmy and a relative started Back Station Inc., a business process outsourcing (BPO) company that provides back office support to service physicians and hospice institutions in California. It seems as though life has come full circle as his early exposure to business and nursing background in college perfectly equipped Timmy for his first start-up business.

With a strong drive to go after what he wants at such a tender age, Timmy undoubtedly knows the value of investment. Just recently, he invested in units at 32 Sanson by Rockwell’s Buri Tower, which is slated for turnover next year. Before the brand even made its foray in Cebu, Timmy was already a fan of Rockwell as he frequented its properties in Manila. What sold him on the property is the sophisticated branding of the real estate developer itself and the mid-rise tower’s modest number of units, giving that sense of exclusivity and privacy. The Buri Tower is also situated nearest to the amenity area, which includes the posh clubhouse and swimming pool. It was the coalescence of nature’s tranquillity, access to modern conveniences and strategic location that sealed the deal for him. With the promise of high returns that comes with investment is risk, of course—but Timmy is not one to look away from a good opportunity when he sees it.

Managing a growing BPO, purveying succulent roasted duck on the side and helping out in the family business, it all can seem overwhelming, especially for someone as young as Timmy, but he takes all of this in stride. “Since the BPO works in California time, the time difference allows me to oversee the operations of the BPO during the first half of the day and do other things for the rest of the day.”

Timmy’s advice to young, aspiring entrepreneurs: “Find a niche. You have to be the first and specialize in something. Take risks. When you’re young, you can make mistakes.”

At 28, Timmy already seems like a success story but greater things are still in store for this sharp businessman. He may be following in the footsteps of his predecessors but he is definitely carving a path of his own.
